Walt is a graduate of Arizona State University (B.S. 1970: J.D. 1973). He has been a Judge Pro Tempore in the Appellate Court of Arizona, and a past member of the Board of Adjustment in the City of Tempe by appointment of the mayor. He is a member of the Maricopa County Bar Association and a former member of its Medical-Legal Liaison Committee. He is also a member of the State Bar of Arizona and the American Association for Justice.
In recognition of his career achievements, in 2013, Walt was inducted into the National Trial Lawyers ® Top 100 Trial Lawyers, and elite national group of litigators. A lawyer can only be accepted by invitation.
Walt has tried, mediated, arbitrated and settled claims ranging from small to multi-million dollar cases. Further, he has handled numerous and very significant complex multi-party, multi-district litigation matters involving millions of dollars in catastrophic injury claims.
He has been designated as an AV® Preeminent Rated Lawyer. The AV® Peer Review Rating ™ serves as an objective indicator that a lawyer has demonstrated ethical standards and professional ability and is used by buyers of legal services to justify their hiring decisions. Only a select group of Arizona lawyers receive this distinction.
Walt also serves as a panel member for the NFL Players Association and in that capacity has advised and represented members of the Arizona Cardinals, as well as many other professional athletes involving injuries in baseball, hockey and soccer.
Walt Ulman was chosen as the United States 2009 attorney of the year by LegalShield Services, Inc., a legal organization dedicated to providing legal services to all people at reasonable cost effective rates. This is a national organization that is registered on the New York Stock Exchange. Walt continues to work with LegalShield, Inc. and accepts referrals in his fields of practice that include personal injury, automobile accidents, medical malpractice, slip and fall, products liability, legal malpractice, and worker's compensation claims.
Walt Ulman was admitted to the Status of Sustaining Member of the Association of Trial Lawyers of America by the Board of Governors in the year 2000. Further, as a member in good standing for over twenty-five years he has received the status of Association of Trial Lawyers of America Stalwart.
Walt has lectured on behalf of the State Bar of Arizona, and various other private and legal organizations, Mesa Community College, in the area of personal injury and workers' compensation litigation. He has also taught "Respect for Law" courses at public schools, and is a Tempe Leadership graduate. He practices Plaintiff Personal Injury Law, Products Liability Litigation; Medical and Professional Malpractice Litigation, Wrongful Death Litigation, and Workers' Compensation Law. Walt was a Certified Specialist in Workers' Compensation by the Arizona Board of Legal Specialization for over twenty-five years.
